Holy Week & Easter Sunday 2024 Info

Holy Week commemorates the drama of the Passion: from Palm Sunday through Maundy Thursday and the subsequent betrayal of Christ in the garden; and from there into the Crucifixion, Death and Burial of Our Lord; and it culminates on Easter Sunday with the Resurrection of Christ (you can click here for a longer explanation of Holy Week). Join us as we walk together reliving the Story.

Palm Sunday

Sunday, March 24th @ 4:00 pm
(at Olivet Baptist Church, 1775 S. Beretania St.)
The Palm Sunday service begins with a procession into the church remembering Christ’s triumphal procession into Jerusalem. During this service we will have a dramatic reading from the Gospel of Mark recounting the Passion of Christ. We invite you to join us for this time.

Maundy Thursday

Thursday, March 28th @ 5.30 pm
(at Aiea Heights Church, 99-400 Aiea Heights Dr.)
Maundy Thursday remembers the Last Supper Jesus shared with his disciples on the night he was betrayed, and the institution of Holy Communion. On Thursday we will gather for a time of worship, of sharing a meal, and to celebrate Holy Communion.

Good Friday

Friday, March 29th @ 3.00 pm
(at Aiea Heights Church, 99-400 Aiea Heights Dr.)
Good Friday is a solemn observance of the Love of God displayed towards us in the Death of Jesus Christ on the Cross. Join us for a time of prayer, repentance, and —as strange as it may seem— deep joy.

Holy Saturday

Saturday, April 30th @ 7.00 pm
(at Aiea Heights Church, 99-400 Aiea Heights Dr.)
The Holy Saturday Vigil begins in darkness: the darkness of the tomb, the darkness of doubt, of darkness of sin whose wages are death. But then, as we read through lessons from Holy Scripture, as we recount the saving deeds of our strong and loving God, a light dawns. Easter “arrives”. And we shout and sing and bang pots and pans together and make a gladsome ruckus. For Christ has risen from the dead, beating-down death with death, and we ride in the wake of his victory.

…and that leads us to…

Easter Sunday

Sunday, April 9th 9:30 AM
(at Ke’ehi Lagoon Memorial Hall, 2685 N. Nimitz Hwy.)
Easter Sunday is the bright and glorious festival of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus from the grave. Join us for this great and joyous occasion.

A catered feast and easter egg hunt will follow the service.
